What are Bitcoin and Ethereum

Bitcoin and Ethereum are decentralized digital currencies also known as cryptocurrencies.

Skip ahead to the next paragraph if you know the gist already.

Cryptocurrency is a form of digital money that is designed to be secure and, in many cases, anonymous. It is a currency associated with the internet that uses cryptography, the process of converting legible information into an almost uncrackable code, to track purchases and transfers. Cryptocurrencies use decentralised technology to let users make secure payments and store money without the need to use their name or go through a bank. They run on a distributed public ledger called blockchain, which is a record of all transactions updated and held by currency holders. Cryptocurrencies are known for being secure and providing a level of anonymity. Transactions in them cannot be faked or reversed and there tend to be low fees, making it more reliable than conventional currency. Their decentralised nature means they are available to everyone, where banks can be exclusive in who they will let open accounts.

Why I now accept Cryptocurrencies

I started investing a small amount in Ethereum recently as a hobby just something to keep an eye on and see what happens, but considering cryptos potential to be a major currency of the future I thought I would start accepting it as a payment option for my work as a sound recordist. Its the currency of the future and it’s up to individuals like myself to help make it accepted worldwide for service payments.  There are many benefits to those using it, fast secure payments with tiny transaction fees and all through your phone or laptop,  anonymity from banks and governments to manage your finances however you see fit and for whatever reason you want, perhaps you just don’t trust the government.

As far as I am aware I am the first Sound Recordist to accept Bitcoin and Ethereum as a payment option. So go ahead let’s work on a project and become part of the future of money.

Dont worry though I still accept fiat currency (normal stuff like pounds and dollars) and payment by bank or Paypal I am just excited to provide a new way to pay that hasnt been done before in this industry.
